Phoenix possesses all of my traits that probably drove my mother crazy. He loves to rip shit apart and poke at the naked, exposed parts. If there's a pushbutton on something, he can't resist the temptation to push it. It's frustrating until I realize that I was, still am, the same way. I think it shows that he is curious and determined to find out how things work. So I just need to be sure he has a consistent supply of gadgets and electronic things.
Locks are going to be pointless with Phoenix around. When I was a kid, I always considered locks to be an interesting challenge. If there's a lock, it probably contains something valuable, mysterious, and interesting. I consistently picked the lock on my mother's bedroom door just because it was locked. I don't know how I'm going to be able to keep anything private from Phoenix. My mother was never able to keep anything private from me, poor woman.
I think these are valuable traits to possess, though. It was handy knowing how to fix the phone lines in our new apartment when I was 12. It was handy knowing how to fix my stereo. It'll be handy to know how to fix the things that Phoenix will break while embarking on his own learning adventures.
