Dew-A-Mid update

I've been hard at work on my Mountain Dew pyramid. Here're some pictures.

I finished the 9x9 base.

Isn't it beautiful? Want a closer look?

This is what you would see if the base were floating in the ocean and you were trying to land a plane on it. Next is the overhead shot. Sexy and disturbing.

After finally completing the base I grew wary of all the work with seemingly no gratification. So I decided to start building the top half. There are fewer cans in the entire top half than the base, itself, contains but it is much more interesting to see it stacked. See for yourself...

Oh, man! The chicks are going to want me sooo bad when this is finished!

Now that I've gotten this far, I seem to be running out of deskspace in my cubicle. I've put in a request for a bigger office. In the mean time, I've been setting the finished layers on top of the overhead compartments. You can see the top half from nearly everywhere in my wing of the building. If I need people to find my cubicle I just say "look for the tower of Mountain Dew cans."

I also had an idea tonight. Instead of just stopping at a pyramid, I could build an entire Mountain Dew Diamond. It would look similar to the illustration below...only bigger...and each row of H's would actually be that number of Mountain Dew cans. Squared.

I think it would be righteous to have a 3D Mountain Dew diamond that is 17 cans tall and 9 cans wide. I'll have to buy more superglue, though.

(no subject)

Where is there to go on a Saturday night? I don't like bars. I never feel comfortable in bars. I always feel like I have to keep my guard up. This prevents me from ever interacting with anybody. Am I even seeking interaction? I don't know. I guess I'll list my ideal environment right now to get a better idea of what I'm looking for.

I want a place to go that has good lighting. Where I can see and be seen. This place should have loud, interesting music playing. Not so loud as to prevent conversation, but hovering somewhere between foreground and background. A good cross-sampling of gender, culture, and orientation should be represented among the patrons. There should be some form of entertainment, but this isn't necessary if there are enough interesting people to hold my attention. Alcoholic beverages, reasonably price, should be available as should a small but varied menu of healthy/erotic snack foods. This place should have a flexible tolerance for a wide range of activities. I should feel just as comfortable playing chess as I would dancing, writing, or sleeping. A healthy serving of beautiful, down-to-earth, approachable females would be a definite bonus. And the place should be open 24 hours a day.

It's funny how the place that comes the closest to meeting the requirements is probably a church :)

Barnes & Noble isn't open.
There are no classes being taught.
The mall is closed.
Nude bars cost too much with little or, more frequently, no return.

Bleh! Maybe I'm just being cowardly by refusing to go to a bar. I feel like such a loser sitting at home, masturbating, writing nonsense, wasting time watching movies, when I could be out socializing and meeting new people. Or discovering new music. Or just being out there. But I can't think of anywhere to go.

How late is Musicwerks open? I've been thinking about checking the Mecury out but I think I'd have to make a serious investment in clothing since it's a members only club. And I don't look like a member. I'm a jeans and T-shirt guy.

There used to be a coffeeshop in "downtown" Baraboo, WI called The Venerable Bean. Maybe it's still there; I don't know. The place was as big as a gymnasium. It used to be one of the Ringling Bros. Circus buildings. It had great atmosphere. Plush red velvet couches on a huge area rug. Tables and chairs. Large windows and high, ornate ceilings. There were board games to play, books to read or write in. Food. Drink. I didn't realize at the time what a great resouce this place was. Now I miss it because it is almost exactly what I'm looking for.
