...got the OS side of MIDI working on ripper. While trying to get the kernel configured correctly I, somehow, I don't know how, compiled a kernel with the default .config. Yikes. I had reach all the way across the desk to get my Debian rescue disk. It took about 4 hours to figure out what I did and fix it. Before I discovered what I had done, I suspected that the reason my kernel wouldn't boot was because of the Low Latency patch. I recognized the behavior from when I tried to use Demudi's stock kernel. Now that I know it's not the fault of the patch I now think it has something to do with kernel being optimized for PentiumIII and running on my K6 II. Next, applications :) I got rosegarden working enough to watch it crash and burn.
